Born and raised in Waco, Texas, James played college football for Baylor University while he mastered his marketing skills. With an extensive background in retail, James made the leap to professional sports when he took his role in sales for the Dallas Stars Hockey Club. James retired from sports to create Winstar Marketing, a full-service marketing firm with a focus on Multifamily and Student Living Communities. With over a decade of experience in the industry, James works with Winstar’s student living and multifamily clients and is responsible for the overall operations and development of the company.
A PR/advertising specialist out of UT Austin, Brooke worked for the Houston Astros baseball team and Children’s Miracle Network before joining the front office for the Dallas Stars Hockey Club where she met her partner, James. Together they built Winstar Marketing, a full-service marketing firm with a focus on Multifamily and Student Living Communities.
Brooke continues her involvement with their church, pediatric hematology / oncology Camp Dreamcatcher and children’s schools. Brooke works directly with high-end conventional and hospitality clients and in responsible for Winstar Marketing’s image.
Entrepreneur, writer, and artist, Dieter established the advertising agency Heidelbach, Sawatzki representing some of the largest names in German retail. In 2009 Dieter went on to co-found Sawatzki & Muhlenbruch (SMG). SMG is a highly specialized communication agency targeting retail and enclosed top-end German shopping malls. They have developed their own content management and communication system branded as MallCockpit. MallCockpit has its own blend unique software, hardware, organization, content creation, acquisition, editing and other resources directed at building the digital community. The aim of course is to bring the customer to the point of sale via engaging general news, location information, offers, promotions etc.
SMG now has long term contracts to supply and manage the MallCockpit platform in over 130 separate locations in Germany alone. Dieter spends his weekend writing and touring in his beloved Mustang.
Born in the UK, Phil finished his education in the US and went on to build a number of media businesses in both markets. He has founded, and successfully exited a number of OOH media companies. Excel Outdoor sold to JC Decaux (large format London), Foxmark UK sold to ClearChannel (mall based D6), Foxmark Media US sold to Eye Corp / Network 10 (mall based D6) and went on to develop screen networks in Germany on behalf of Sonae Sierra and Unibail-Westfield-Rodamco.
Most recently he acquired the CBS mall portfolio based out of Culver City CA. Phil retains close links with several prime US mall owners. Phil also has a clear understanding of what the stakeholders are looking for to make any business in this niche successful.
